Contactors
DILM Range
New
contactors and overload relays have to do much more than just basic functions
of switching and protecting.
Safety
Continuous operation demands high operational reliability of the components
used. DILM contactors therefore not only have an excellent lifespan in
standard AC-3 operation, but are also ideally suited for severe AC-4 inching
duty.
Safety is
thus improved even during the setting up and conversion phases for machines
and systems. Device characteristics providing active safety, such as interlocked
opposing contacts, safe isolation and protection against direct contact,
are of course standard features.
All contactors from DILM 185 upwards are equipped with an electronically
controlled drive. They have a very high withstand voltage which offers
considerably more than required by the standard (0.71.15) x Uc.
Economy
Both machine and switchgear manufacturers are looking for economical solutions
for designing low-voltage switchgear assemblies.
DIL contactors
and Z motor-protective systems fit ideally into the overall installation,
allowing cost savings to be made. For example, coupling levels can be
completely dispensed with in many places, since this task is carried out
by intelligent electronics. Furthermore, smaller transformers can be used,
owing to the low pick-up and sealing power levels.
System capability
The system capability of the contactor and motor-protection range is evident
in many ways. For example, one auxiliary contact can be used from the
DIL 0M to the DILM 820, only four current sensors cover motor protection
from 1A to 820A, and complete motor-starters can be formed from plug-in
modules.But
system capability means more. Simple fitting and connection, matched to
the respective current range for all switching devices, a wide range of
motor-starter products for various coordination types, and the associated
know-how.
